Introduction

Welcome!

Picture
Welcome to the project page for "The 210 Lads" -- a brotherhood forged in fire in the depths of the Stanford d.school in Winter Quarter of 2017. Our robot was the embodiment of hard work, perseverance,  and the sheer force of four men fueled by unsustainable amounts of caffeine.

In this website, we outline the trials and tribulations that led to the success of our autonomous state machine. The task: navigate the perpetually changing domain of the Internet, shown in the diagram below, while shooting Alternative Facts (NERF balls) into towers owned and operated by popular culture's three main sources of so-called news: Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. Our robot, a meticulously designed beast standing at 11.5" tall and weighing in at roughly 7 pounds, breezed through a successful check-off and charged into
"The News AFakens" tournament of champions, wheels a-blazing.  As the first competitor and undisputed yellowest 'bot entering the elimination tournament, our robot unfortunately suffered a minor alignment error that ultimately lead to our early exit from the tournament. Despite a quick exit from the competition, the robot gained the respect of many a spectator and will forever live on in the hearts and minds of its loyal team.
